1991

CoachComm was founded by Peter Amos. Peter developed a user-interface specific to sideline communication for football at Auburn University.  The interface significantly enhanced the end-user’s experience and system’s performance. This technology attracted the attention of Division 1A and professional football teams, and was almost instantly adopted as the standard in sideline communication.

1994

CoachComm begins selling headsets to the high school market. CoachComm would later begin selling headsets on the collegiate level and become the leading provider of sideline communications in the nation.

1995

CoachComm begins offering video equipment, such as VCRs, cameras and projectors, to various sports teams to use in analyzing game tapes.

1997

CoachComm launches its first proprietary video product – the Commando Remote. The Commando Remote was a huge success, and has become the defacto standard in the sports video industry.

1997

CoachComm introduces the first UC wireless sideline communications system to the D1 collegiate football market. The UC system became the standard for wireless sideline communications.

1998

CoachComm adds video editing to its lineup. The first of these products was called the CoachWin editing system – a hardware/software-based tape-to-tape editing system that allowed coaches to organize and re-sort their game tapes based on game data.

2004

CoachComm introduces the NG System as the replacement to the UC system. The NG system offered a more advanced wireless technology, which allowed more flexibility with wireless frequencies on game day. With the NG technology, game day frequencies were agile and could be coordinated (by CoachComm) and updated on a week-to-week basis.

2004

CoachComm begins selling Connex – the standard in high school sideline communication. The Connex system was a result of Peter's focused efforts in advancing wireless technology. Connex was developed, in part, due to growing concerns around the crowded UHF frequency band. Connex features 2.4 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, which provides clear, reliable communication at an affordable price for coaches. CoachComm's continued commitment to product innovation and quality have made the Connex headset system our best-selling product.

2007

CoachComm expands its products outside the sports market with Tempest Wireless. With Tempest Wireless, CoachComm created “Wireless for the Real World.” The ever-narrowing UHF frequency band combined with the mandated DTV transition that occurred two years later, created an overwhelming need for new wireless technology not just in sports, but in the broadcast and live production market. Tempest Wireless, which had been under development by CoachComm well in advance of these conflicts, was introduced as a breakthrough 2.4 GHz technology that would provide unforeseen flexibility across the frequency spectrum.

2008

CoachComm introduces Tempest NG as the replacement to the NG system. The Tempest NG system was developed on the 2.4 GHz Tempest Wireless platform, and thus provided customers with unforeseen flexibility with their sideline communications. More than 95% of the D1 collegiate football market call on CoachComm for their sideline communication needs --- including more than 130 schools using the Tempest NG technology.

2010

CoachComm introduces SIFT digital technology. CoachComm understands the changing digital world, and has adapted to meet the needs of more technology-savvy coaches. With our SIFT suite of digital technologies CoachComm allows coaches to capture, replay and present information in an entirely new way. Our high-definition IP cameras, coupled with these new digital solutions, create a collection of products that will pave the way for our company in the 21st century.

2011

CoachComm introduces the 900 MHz model for Tempest Wireless. CoachComm continues to be the leader in wireless intercom technology by providing more options for wireless users. The Tempest Wireless family added a new member this year that operates in the license free 900 MHz frequency spectrum. The new 900 MHz model uses the same user interface as the 2.4 GHz model which allows users to easily add another option to their arsenal.

2011

CoachComm introduces Tempest NG900. The Tempest NG system added another option this year with the development of our 900 MHz technology. The Tempest NG900 model provides our D1 collegiate customers already using the Tempest NG system with another wireless option on game day.
