Head Football Coach Guy LeCompte

Coach Profile

Guy LeCompte, a Louisiana native, has been coaching football for 20 years. With his business degree from Louisiana State University, he began teaching at Archbishop Hannan High School, and then got onto the coaching staff. His love for playing football during high school and college turned into a love for coaching students in the game. He said, “God put me on this Earth for one thing, and that’s to work with young men. Seeing your players succeed in whatever it is they are trying to accomplish, whether it be on the field, in the classroom, or in life, that’s the most rewarding part of being a coach.”

After one year at Hannan, Coach LeCompte moved to Parkview Baptist for four years. In 1999, he became the Defensive Backs Coach at Salmen High, and then the Offensive Coordinator in 2000 when the team won the state championship. Through Hurricane Katrina (2005), LeCompte stayed at Salmon, and has been at Mandeville since 2006, with a 66-27 record.

The Mandeville High School Skippers, a strong football team out of St. Tammany Parish in Louisiana, have been very successful in recent years. In the last four years, the Skippers have been to both the quarterfinals and all the way to the semi-finals twice. As one of the most competitive teams in the state of Louisiana during the last few years, there’s no doubt that Mandeville High School has some very talented players on the field.

“Communication is extremely important to us and Tempest FX provides the highest quality from any headsets that we’ve used in the past, not to mention that they are very easy to set up and use. The icing on the cake is the customer support!”

In 2013, Coach LeCompte purchased a Tempest® FX system from CoachComm to enhance their sideline communications for game nights. His main interest in Tempest FX was the quality and clarity of the system. With this new headset system, the team made it to the quarterfinals again this year. We congratulate the Skippers on a great 2014 season, and wish them the best for 2015!
